This group was created for every public entity in Michigan to participate in a two step process for improving their health insurance provider, delivery and financing options.
Joining this group will begin the process, and will make your organization available for communications as information is announced. Communications will include updates on participation levels as well as insurance carrier, VEBA, self-insured pools and other announcements.
The second step after joining this group is to complete the healthcare application in the Public Entity section of the applications. This will help to identify current plan options, carriers, deductibles, co-pays and other relevant information to help new insurance providers structure their offering to fit with your current preferences. Many insurance providers will also structure options based on what they think may improve coverage, or save money.
Once the data from a sufficient number of public entities in Michigan is received, the insurance providers will begin pricing their offerings and making them available to the group members. This is intended to make the buying process easier, and to make sure the administration knows the pricing and terms of all options available as they set their budgets and negotiate union contracts and other wage changes.
All data transfers are done securely. In addition to our internet based security, we will send you a formated file to transfer your employee census data to offline. The data, once transferred can be uploaded to the group securely, or sent in via mail depending on your current business practices.
